The name of the 2nd wife of Obadiah Sprague, Sr., Mary, is taken from a deed (Scituate, R.I., Land Evidences, VI.), in which Obadiah Sprague and wife Mary convey land in Scituate, R.I., March 29, 1770. This proved that at least his son Obadiah, who was born Aug. 22, 1770 was the child of his second wife. p. 182. He moved from R.I. to N.H. in 1792 or 1793; lived on the place now (1884) owned by his grandson Hiram P., on the corner where an old cellar marks the spot.
