I am searching for the last name of Widger (will list variable spelling at end of letter). The only first name I have are James, Samuel, Peter and William. I do know that a Samuel Widger was in Stonington CT about 1704 and that a James Widger took oath of fidel., to Mass 1674. Early family history says that three or four brothers came over in the early 1600's and their names were James, Peter , William and Samuel. I also have a Samuel Widger master of the ship Nicholas 1666. I hope this is not too much information this is my first time requesting information on a mailing list. Thank you for the offer of the lookups without people like you this would be so much more difficult. Would you be able to give me an idea of the amount of content there is for a few names? I don't want you spending lots of time transcribing. I live in northeastern Connecticut, so will be shut in with the same snow as you for the next two days. My ninth-great-grandfather was Governor Thomas WELLES of Connecticut. His daughter, Anne, married Thomas THOMPSON of Farmington. I also have direct connections to John STEELE, Stephen HART, and Thomas JUDD, all of which were founders of Hartford with Thomas Hooker.
