I may have some information. I have a copy of the Field Genealogy published in 1901 by a Clifton Pierce, a 2 Volume set with several hundred Field's. I will look later today. Desire more on Hill ancestors who were in ME, NH, VT, MA and CT at some point. Timothy Hill born 21May 1722 married Elizabeth Stevens. Please also-desire info on town of Guilford, CT-- Menunkatuck history along with census of Guilford--looking for Hill ancestors. Thanks. GAH/DMT in AZ
Clyde, You wrote "went over the LDS website (which I feel certain you've perused) and found all the info. they have". Yes, I have looked in the LDS familysearch and the names and dates match with Lucien C. Warner and Josephine Nichols' book "The Descendants of Andrew Warner". Neither source, however, goes forward from Jesse and Hannah (Colton) Warner's daughter, Clarissa Warner b. 10 Jan 1780. The Wilbraham Town Records BMD 1636-1871 gives the same data but does not shed any further light either. A Hannah Warner did marry Josiah Leonard in 1892 in Wilbraham and I have a feeling that she might be the widow of Lieut. Jesse Warner, who died in 1784 and that Josiah and she went to live in another town. I'll have to search out a Leonard Genealogy. You also wrote refering to J. Bruce Tingle's book Military Rolls of the Outward Commons-- Soldiers of Wilbraham, Mass., 1730-1840: "If you need anything from Bruce's book, please let me know." Thanks for your kind offer. All I have from the Wilbraham Centennial book is that Jesse Warner took part in the what they called "The French War, in a battle near the southern extremity of Lake George, with Baron Dieskau in 1755." and from the DAR that "he marched in response to the April 19, 1775 Lexington alarm. If Bruce's book sheds more light on these two campaigns that he participated in I would appreciate hearing from you. Phil Burnett
I have a William Morrison, But in Conn. Died in Nov. 21,1913, from Glasgow, Scotland. Thanks, Jane
Becky, A listing for Bridget Richardson Fletcher born in Westford, MA and mother of Jesse and Josiah Fletcher both of whom settled in VT. However the book does not show a listing for any Richardson family in VT. Don't get discouraged though. My ggg grandfather lived in Hartland, Windsor County, VT in 1791 and isn't listed in the book. Cynthia, I want to let you know how much I appreciate the postings you make. I have saved all of the ones relating to King Philips War. I have also saved the ones from "Inscriptions on the Grave Stones in the Grave Yards of Northampton and other towns in the Valley of the Connecticut as Springfield, Amherst, Hadley,Hatfield, Deerfield &c with brief annals of Northampton" by Thomas Bridgman, 1850. However, I don't have all of those postings (only 2/3, 3 and 6). I have gone to the archives, 1999 and 2000, but can't find the others. Do you recall when they were posted or what their title was? I have searched for Northampton, gravestones, inscriptions, and several other key words. Any suggestions? Perhaps someone on the list has copies of the posts I am missing that they could email me? My line is CHAPIN and my 4g/grandfather was Roswell CHAPIN b, Vt. 20 Dec, 1790 in Wardsboro, Windham, VT. There are 2 possible ROSWELLs, this one born to Daniel CHAPIN and Lucy MARTIN, and another born, 1783 VT to John CHAPIN and Mary SIMONS. Using naming patterns as clues, the one born in 1790 seems the likely one. I'm in Butler County, OH and that is where my 4g/grandfather lived the majority of his life. He died in Wayne County, IN just six months short of being 100 years old. My problem in determining which Roswell is mine is finding death info with a date of death to pinpoint his birth. Unless, there is something in your book which references a Roswell CHAPIN venturing to Ohio. That would be a tremendous help.
