    2. Hi Arline Waterford Vermont is in Essex County - it's slightly southeast of St Johnsbury on rt 18 (I believe) - it's a very small town and not on some maps. Penney

Source: Columbia Lippincott Gazeteer of the World (1952 edition) I think it is probably a town as in township, not a village. 1. [CRV] Savage
    2. I have been trying to reach the URL for Savage's Genealogical Dictionary of the first Settlers at http://genweb.net/~books/savage/savage.htm, where I have visited before. I am not having any success. Does anyone have another site where I can get this or is it just busy? Thanks, Leslie

    1. [CRV] PELTON, Josiah 1745-1818
    2. I am trying to prove Josiah Pelton's service in the Revolutionary War. All of his brothers, Nathan, Ithamar and John, were soldiers. He stayed home to care for his father, John who died in 1785. I believe he may have been involved in building ships for his brother Ithamar who provided ships for privateers. Any help would be appreciated. He died in OH in 1818, having purchased 6000 acres in NE OH in 1800 from Lemuel Storrs for $1000. Where did he get all this money? Did he serve as a patriot and if so how? Thanks for any help you can offer. Susan K. Spies
