Hello. My name is Kelley -- I recently completed my Masters degree and am going to law school this fall here in Washington, D.C. School is expensive and I could use some extra money to pay for tuition and loans, so I am offering to do military research at the National Archives (service files, pension files, etc). Generally, a request for this kind of information takes the Archives several months, at a minimum, to process. I can retrieve them much faster and also give you someone to interact with instead of a government form. My fees are reasonable, intended to compensate me for my time, printing costs and postage for what I'll send back to you. The Archives offers extended hours once a month, so I would be doing research over the course of three days each month, and I am more than happy to send you a schedule. If you are interested, please just email me at texlabooks@gmail.com Take care. Kelley
Hey gang, Just a short reminder to the vets and newbies at this site of my free research for the asking here at Andersonville Civil War Prisoner of War site. There are more than 41000 Union soldiers on record from all states, and 26 are from 10th Conn. Infantry. Please email me directly at Frye@pstel.net with request so we dont tie up the county site. Are you interested in histories/artifacts for loan to the museum? I am sure you have seen some of the regimental histories hand written on black paper with decorated borders, etc.? My great grandfather (James L. Morse) served in Co. K/10th CT and I have a copy of his service record which was produced and framed in the late 1800's and kept by my family for all these years. I believe the State Capitol or Historical Society has similar artifacts on display. I would be happy to forward you a digital pic of this beautiful document and, if you are interested, would be willing to discuss loaning it the your museum for others to enjoy. I also have a copy of an early 10th CT regimental history that I purchased on the internet and would be willing to donate that item if you are interested. Please let me know. Regards, Kevin Parker

Ladies & Gentlemen, I signed onto this list server to learn more about the 10th Connecticut as part of preparing for a Civil War reenactment of one of their battles this Fall, October 10-12th at Berkeley Hundred in Virginia. The name of the event is "War on the James" and will commemorate the 139th anniversary of the Battle of Darbeytown Road where the 10th CT and the 24th Mass. pressed Confederate skirmishers back to their breastworks. It is my understanding that the 10th performed heroic actions on the field of battle. I invite anyone who has a personal connection to the 10th to visit the reenactment on Saturday when it will be open to the public. What's more, anyone who has personal or family or unit information they would like to share with the reenactors for the event is invited to email me off-list about it. Bill Cross
