I was just looking at some Federal Census records today, and John Crystal is listed in Fayette County, Kentucky in the 1820 census. I didn't look him up today, but I did find William Crystal listed in the 1810 Census (Fleming county, KY); in the 1820 Census (Fleming County); and in the 1830 Census (Fleming). My records indicate William died in 1833. The information I have on John is that he was born about 1793, rather than 1784 as you have it. I have his father, William Crystal's birth as 1765 and his mother, Mary "Polly" Gooding's birth as 1770. If her birth year is correct, and you are correct about John's birth year, she would have been about 14, which is unlikely. I also believe William may have served in the Kentucky militia during the War of 1812, but I haven't confirmed that. Let me know if you have found out any more about these guys. Malcolm

Hi all, At one time my husband's aunt Lovdie LEONARD helped a family by the name of CRYSTAL. This was prior to 1934. Possibly in Missouri??? I descend from a Richard Crystal (1803-1880) who married Elizabeth Cox in 1826, perhaps in Ohio. They had, among others, Allen I. Crystal (b. 1846) who married Elsie Harrison (1862-1946). Their son, Ralph David Crystal (1889-1954), was my grandfather. Ralph married Melvina May Groves (1893-1982) who had David Eugene Crystal (1916-1986) who married Elsa Helene Boettcher (1922- ). They had me. I don't know if Richard Crystal was related to Abraham Crystal, but I would like to trace that line of the family back further.
