    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: bwoodall49 Surnames: Crumrine Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.crumrine/78.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I too am a great great grand child of John W. Crumrine and (Elen) Mary Helen Worthington, great grand daughter of Richard D. Crumrine and (Zella) Rosella F Hildebrant, grand daughter of (Fletta) Flettia Alma Lucell Crumrine Deckard and Virgil Jack Deckard, daughter of Virgil Floyd Deckard There is the potential of John M. W. Crumrine living a Double life or two families There is the John M with the W VA 10th INF during CW Wife Eleanor and there is John M. Crumrine with Iowa 18th, co H, enlisted 06 Aug 1862 wife Ellen. One time I was hurriedly researching and found John Crumrine living with a family other wife just a page or two over I found Elen M Worthington working as a domestic with a family near by. Both John and Elinore and John and Elen wind up in Kansas in 1870. In 1880 one family is in Gypsum, Saline County, Kansas and Caney, Montgomery County, Kansas. There is an indication that John worked for a railroad it could be the Midland Valley Railroad Line. http://specialcollections.wichita.edu/collections/local_history/tihen/pdf/People&Places/Midland_Valley_Railroad.PDF There are rail lines in both Caney and Gypsum today they are defunct but the earth scars are still evident. There is the Atch. Topeka line and Mo lines that connect these communities together http://www.abandonedrails.com/picture.asp?s=28 http://trainweb.org/screamingeagle/history_ko&g.html Later on the families were in Elk county and Chautauqua close to each and easy to have two families going at once. I find also around 1910 since Elen is dead a new family in Tonkawa Oklahoma and by 1920 he's with a new wife in the Tulsa area. There is a photo of the man in Tonkawa that I need to get so the I can compare to the photo that I have. One other piece of history is the he made violins or was a music teacher. I have found there is a census listing of one being a carpenter. It is hard to tell is this one man with 6 marriages under his belt or two men with nearly the same name.
