Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/xdQ.2ACIB/79.2 Message Board Post: Abraham and Judith (BERGER) KRUMRINE/CRUMRINE lived just about two miles south of the York Co., PA border into what is now Carroll Co., MD (was Baltimore Co. at that time). Abraham and his son George built a lovely quaried stone house near Melrose, MD. Abraham (b. 1753 in NJ) was the son of the immigrant Georg Lenhart KRUMREIN who arrived in Philadelphia in 1748 from Jungholzhausen, Wuerrtemberg, in what is now Germany but what, at that time, just a collection of Principalities under different rulers. The old church records in nearby Doettingen were obtained by Boyd Crumrine of Washington, PA in 1910 and these prove Georg's lineage back to 1592. Georg first went to Salem Co., NJ where he md. the widow Barbara RIDMAN in 1761. Her maiden name is unknown at this time, but it was not RIDMAN. Abraham and several other children were born there. In 1766, Georg purchased 225 acres of land in northern Baltimore Co., MD where he built a log cabin and lived out his days. About that time, or shortly before, Barbara died and Georg md. 2) Margaret (maiden name unknown at this time) and had three more children. Georg died in Balt. Co., MD in 1779 leaving a will, but his estate could not be settled until the youngest child was "of age". My KRUMRINE/CRUMRINE records were filmed by the Family History Library (Mormon) in the 1980's and there are six films of them. If there is one of their many branch libraries near you, you could go and order the pertinent films to read there and see more about your family. I have made a listing of what records on each film and, if you would send me your snail mail address (by private E-Mail), I will send the list to you. That way, you would know which films to order to get your complete CRUMRINE lineage. Of course, you would also have to give me your direct ancestry also so that I could indicate on the listing just which films you should order. Over the period of many years, I researched census, deed, probate, history, tax and many other records for most of the descendants of Georg and of his distant cousin Hans Michael and they are all on these films. Also included in these records is my correspondence with many CRUMRINE relatives and family researchers who shared their family information and research. This could put you in touch with others in your particular line. These films will give you lots of biographical information on your CRUMRINE ancestors. Good Luck with your search and have fun!!!
