My paternal gt.grandmother was Jane Roberts born Denbighshire about 1870/71. She married Edward Knight and lived in Kirkdale, Liverpool. Their daughter Ada (my grandmother)born 1902 Kirkdale, married Thomas Fearon in Liverpool in 1923. Thomas worked for the Liverpool Evening Express and Echo and they moved to Chester, firstly living over the Express office in City Road and then moving out to a bungalow in Huntington near Chester. My Dad (Tom) remembers John Crump arriving at the bungalow in a lovely old Rover car, this would be sometime in the 1940's. And my Auntie Ada remembers visiting the garage in Gresford with her mum (Ada) and grandmother (Jane Knight). So both think there is a family connection with the Crump family and thought it was possibly as cousins to my grandmother Ada Fearon (nee Knight). I have looked at the censuses for Elizabeth Roberts and see that she has an elder sister Jane, although this would make her a couple of years older than I thought. I also see that there is a younger sister Alice. Another aunt seems to remember that gran Knight may have had another name which could possibly have been Alice or Agnes. Was Alice Roberts perhaps Alice Jane Roberts or was Jane - Jane Alice or Agnes Roberts? I also understand that the Roberts family was not very happy with Jane marrying an Irish Catholic and that this caused a rift in the family. Does any of this fit with your information on the Roberts family? If it does it would also be such a coincidence that there is also a Wilding connection! Look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes Jan Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
