The will has Christian (typescript) and the land tax lists have Christian, Christopher, and Chr ! The name hints at a possible relationship with the Christian family of NK, but I have not found any proof. I guess we get to pick! Likewise, Josiah is also called Josias, Jesse and even Jonas in Northampton. At least, I have always thought that the appearance of a Jonas Crump and a Jesse Crump did not represent two other men especially in the context. Spelling in those days was pretty flexible! I just use whatever spelling appears when I am abstracting documents.
