The following quoted information is from notes furnished by Dr. Robert Armistead Stewart, Editor of The Researcher, Richmond, Va, and author of index to Virginia genealogies. The Virginia quarterley article is good, but the author was not even aware that William Crump was said also to be a son or he would have discussed it in the story. It is possible that William Crump died around the same time as his brother John. The Virginia quarterly article also does not explain well how Elizabeth Bucke suddenley shows up on the scene and marries Thomas Crump out of the blue. Also they never give the name of the first wife who bears his daughter Elizabeth. So it is possible that Elizabeth also was born in Virginia. The only thing the quarterly writer says is that there is no record of her being there in early Virginia. Apparentley there is some record of them being married at Jamestown?
