He was a headright of Lewis Burrell in 1648 and was married to an Anne (surname unknown) in 1651. He was a relative of Elizabeth Vaulx, wife of Robert Vaulx and apparently employed by them. In 1665 he patented land in New Kent County with Edmonds and Whitehaire. In 1771, Edmonds appointed Mr. William Crump his attorney to appear for him in York Court. In 1681, he patented land in New Kent near Stephen Crump's fence. >From my communication with Mr Gann, I know he was very well aware of this William Crump and did not consider him a son of Thomas Crump. There is nothing in the surviving documents that connects this William Crump to Thomas Crump! Any stated relationship seems to be speculative. William of York was the founder of the New Kent Crumps.
