I don't know if I can find any census records that show their family right after they were married. At this point their are so many viewpoints on the subject; I am going to look some more. The Virginia Geneaology magazine article is very good but not definitive. It leaves a lot of unanswered questions. Several very reliable sources say the his daughter Elizabeth, Bridget and his wife came over with him. Other sources say Bridget was a wife and stepmother to Mara based on the supposedley mean comment that know real mother would make that Mara was rather slow at reading the bible. On the other hand Bridget protected Mara from being married off for the sake of her land, and went to court to get an order that this not be allowed which the court approved.
