Harris died Sept. 23, 2010. She was born Feb. 12, 1926, to Augustus Crump and Clara Odom Crump (deceased), and had one sister, Wilimae Poindexter (deceased). She married Lon C. Harris Sr. on May 7, 1941, and they were married for 66 years. She was the mother of Clara L. Harris of Detroit, Mich., the Rev. Lon C. Harris Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, Sherrie Annette Harris (deceased). Also surviving are grandchildren, Andrea L. Wells Harris (Kenneth), Emma Louise C. Harris, Regina C. Harris, Jessica C. Harris, Simone L. Harris, Lorenzo D.L. Harris, Marie Harris; 12 great-grandchildren; Funeral service will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Mount Vernon Avenue AME Church, 1127 Mount Vernon Ave., Columbus, Ohio with the Rev. Wm. S. Wheatly officiating. Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Interment at Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio. Arrangements entrusted to Caliman Funeral Services, 3700 Refugee Road, Columbus, Ohio.
