I am looking for an old Army Buddy of mine by the name of William A. Crump. We just called him Will or Sgt. Crump. We served together in the 1st platoon of A Co. 1/69th Armor in Vietnam in 1967. Will was a pretty good guy and saved our butts a number of times. The reason for posting here is that he was supposedly from Chicago. Several of us have been looking for him for a number of years. So far I have mailed about 30 letters and no one seems to know him. Approximately 10 of those letters have been sent to the Chicago area. Of the few(about 5) that have sent back the inclosed postage paid post card, don't seem to know him. Am I chasing an urban legend? Would really like to find him as our 69th Armor Association is meeting this year and we First Platooners are planning a reunion in late Spring.
