Likely brother-in-law. Andrew McQuitty, Jr. (1771-1857) was in the Femme de Osage Creek area of the upper Louisiana Territory in 1801 with George Crump (Sr.? or Jr.?) and Samuel Watkins. Andrew married Mary Crump in June 13, 1799 in Bullitt or Jefferson Co., KY. My communication with another Crump relative (see below) indicated that George Sr died in 1805 in St. Louis, so the George listed in the newspaper is likely Mary's brother. There was a George Crump in Boone Co in 1821 - so was Andrew McQuitty, Jr. I am assuming this is George Jr. "I am Carolyn and my ancestor is George Crump from VA. He died in St Louis,MO in 1805 and I know little about him since he died so soon. I don't know who his parents are. His daughter Mary Crump Married Andrew McQuitty in Jefferson County, KY in 1799 and also Lucy Crump married John Stuart in Jefferson County,Ky in 1799. John Stuart and Andrew McQuitty were executors of George's estate, with George's wife Elizabeth and John finally asked to be taken off since Elizabeth was spending the money before an inventory was done."
