I have as source materials for your query: Marius Randolph Barham and Nellie McLane Barham, "A Crump on Every Stump, Book I," 1986: Susannah Crump, daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Unknown was baptized on 4 Sep 168_. in St. Peter's Parish, New Kent County, Virginia. She married Robert Cade on 17 Sep 1713, St. Peter's Parish, New Kent County, Virginia. Barhams also report that Robert Cade was of the ST. peter's PArish and that the couple had five children, all born in St. Peter's PArish, New Kent County, Virginia. "Adventures of Purse and Person", Pages 223-226: Cade apparently moved to Bertie and Edgecombe Counties, North Carolina, where he was on a list of jurors on 25 Feb 1739/1740. He settled on land in Franklin County, North Carolina. Administration of his estate was granted to James Alford in May, 1769. I am told that there are similar entries in Harlee's work, although I have not read them. Tom R. Crump, in Seguin, Texas Vickye White wrote: > > Add one more to the list! Hello Melinda and Ed, This is a small list I believe, but I have noticed more activity of late. My CRUMP ancestors are from Ontario Canada. Mary Ann CRUMP married John William SIMNING in Cornwall, Canada. Mary Ann had several brothers...Peter, Levi, William, Shedrick, and Michael... and two sisters....Elizabeth and Hannah, most of whom were born in Canada. At least as far as I know that is all of her siblings. Her father is believed to be Michael CRUMP, born in England. Her mother name is unknown, but thought to be Elizabeth also born in England. John W. and Mary Ann SIMNING moved their family to Minnesota in 1873. At the same time they left Canada, so did some of the brothers of Mary Ann....Levi, Peter and Shedrick. I am looking for confirmation on the parents of Mary Ann CRUMP Simning. Does anyone recognize this family? I would like to exchange information with anyone that has a connection to the CRUMPS from Canada and Minnesota. Constance Coos Bay, Oregon
I have been away from home for a bit, but notice some interesting activity on this site - pity you're al researching your American branches of the family as I Have heaps of new contacts for an English branch. Edward's name produced some excitement for me as there are a bunch of Edwards from Gloucester/Worcester border area whose line I've been following. I recently made contact with an English gentleman who has done extensive research on this line and gone back to the 1500 in Bretforton (some fascinating wills as well). My Edward Callow Crump came from the Childswickham area in the more recent early 1800s. Anyone out there interested in this area? Cheers Adrienne [email protected]
Add one more to the list! I have a Susannah CRUMP b. 1692 married 7 Feb. 1713 to Robert CADE b. 1691 d. 1769. This is according to the FHC records. I would like to verify this information, and learn more. I am anxious to hear from others that might help with this line, this is all I know. Hi- I am also wondering (like Ed Crump Jr.) how many are on this list! My Crump ancestor is Lucy Crump who married John M. Hogarty (b. in Ireland) in Henrico Co. VA in 1822. Their children were James, Martin Van Buren, John Crump, Francis T., Edward, Joseph, Samuel, Ann Marie, and Richard Mentor Hogarty (my ancestor). Richard M. Hogarty was born in Ohio in 1843 , so I am assuming that the Hogarty/Crump family moved to Ohio sometime after their marriage in 1822. Lucy died in Ada, Kansas in 1885. I am looking for Lucy Crump's parents. I assume she would have been born around 1800- give or take a few years. Does anyone know who her parents were? Also- does anyone know of any Native American ancestry in the Crumps? There is a story of Indian ancestry somewhere in the Hogarty family- so far I keep finding just Scotch-Irish. Hi everyone. I subscribed to this list on 10/6 and think I got my first message today, so not sure how many of us are here <G>. I am presently working on a theory that perhaps the Adam Crump of early Virginia (1732-1753) was the son of the James Crump who died in Dublin in 1737 leaving a will naming Adam as the youngest son of four sons and two daughters. I think James was from England. He married Catherine Mayo in 1677 in England, and was probably born about 1650-1655. James *may* have been related to Sir Richard Crump of Bristol who was Sheriff in 1665-66, Mayor in 1677-78, Knighted in 1682, and elected as a Member of Parliament in 1687. He was elected with John Churchill, strong supporter of the kings, Charles II and James II, so I assume Crump was as well, and therefore likely a Catholic and a Tory. Sir Richard's will was filed in Dublin in 1701 (he died in 1700), but I have not been able to get a copy to see if perhaps James was a son. Richard was known to remain in Bristol until his death, so the reason for the will being filed in Dublin is not yet known. I have felt for several years that not all of the Crumps in the United States descend from Sgt. Thomas Crump of Jamestown. But Thomas was from England, too, so there is probably an English connection. Is anyone interested in this family during this time period? Thanks, Ed in Louisiana

Hi fellow Crump researchers. Having just found this list and subcribed about five minutes ago, I'll introduce myself: I'm Adrienne from Nelson NZ and when not teaching I find myself trying to extend my family tree. I'm luck in that I get heaps of time to do this as I'm what is called a mobile reserve teacher. Even when I am working I am often sent to places 500 km away and sometimes get access to reference material there that are unavailable back home. Now my first CRUMP is one THOMAS CRUMP m. ANN NEW who had heaps of kids between the years 1769 and 1791. The first two, twins born and died at a few days old in CHARLTON ABBOTS, rest all b. CHILDSWICKHAM (Hamlet of Murcott). The one of particular interest to me is EDWARD CALLOW CRUMP b. 1775/6 who married MARY MARTIN 1801 in ASHTON UNDER HILL. Would like to made contact with anyone related to this family, Cheers Adrienne [email protected]

Polly and Ira moved to Pike Co., Illinois in 1834. Mary "Polly" Crump Briscoe's parents were Thomas Crump and Frances Taylor.
