    1. Re: [CRUMP] Crump Sterns Ar. Ms., Tx. 1880's -1900's
    2. Ed Crump Jr
    3. Sherry, the neat thing about finding the "missing link" is that it ustally leads to a real breakthrough. I have a Matthew Lee Crump born August 30, 1854 in Tippah county MS who married Sarah Ezelia Sanders on March 11, 1875. I show this Matthew died Nov 24, 1929 in Whitesboro Texas. This Matthew and Sarah Ezelia Sanders had nine children, and the fifth was Oliver born August 1884 in Tippah Co, MS. Got to be the same family, so I need to get this info to you. It was furnished to me by Fred Ebenezer Crump, Sr. of SC. Matthew was son of James D. Crump of Franklin Co, GA; James was son of John D. Crump of Pittsylvania Co, VA; and John was son of Robert Crump b abt 1745 in VA. We do not yet know the parents of Robert. This is NOT my line, but I do have considerable information. With these new names you can check GenForum and other sources to get details. Robert Crump is the one who married Mary Parr of VA. The database on Robert's family contains almost 3,000 names, but nothing on "Oliver" other than his date and place of birth. It does appear that Matthew moved to Texas between March 1891 and Sept 1892 since he had a child in each place on those approximate dates. Let me know if you need anything from me. Good Luck! This information was given by my Grandmother. She was his 2nd wife. I don't know who his 1st wife was. I do know that he had a son Otis Oliver Crump Jr., and two daughters Ola and Mattie by his first wife. My Grandmother Mildred S. Sterns was born in Selma, Tenn. 3. Hi Ed, To answer your question.. No they are not 20th just century. Here is a brief description of what the OCFA is. I should also mention that this is an on going project. When I first went on line in 1995, there were not nearly as many names in the index as there is now. Here is a little information on the OCFA. OCFA is a "pointer" database. It consists of the surnames, cemetery name and location of over 2 Million interments in Ontario and one county in the province of Quebec. The file does not contain transcriptions or dates, but it does tell the reader which county, township and cemetery contains a given surname. What do I do once I have found a name of interest to me? Your first step would be to obtain the complete transcript for that particular cemetery. The Contributing Organizations /Addresses page contains information on where to purchase the transcripts." Here is the URL with the address for the different organizations that hold the cemetery transcripts. <http://www.islandnet.com/ocfa/addresses.html>. Constance Ed Crump Jr wrote: > Hi, Constance. Not understanding some of the Canadian references I wonder > what century these Crumps are in. I assume the 20th, but just wondering. Ed

    1. [CRUMP] 4 North Carolina Marriages
    2. Constance M. Diamond
    3. Hi, This is from Amazon.com. Hope it helps some of you. Constance North Carolina Marriages Description: The 33,000 records in this database are an index to marriage records available from North Carolina between 1850 and 1868. A few of the records extend as far as from 1842 and 1900. The following counties and dates are included in this collection: Ashe, (Marriage Bonds) Bertie, 1850-1868, (Marriage Certificates) Catawba, 1842-1900, 1850-1900 includes only A-K, (Marriages) Currituck, 1851-1867, Book A, (Marriage Bonds) Davidson, 1827-1867, (Marriage Bonds) Davie, 1851-1868 (Marriage Bonds and Certificates) McDowell, 1851-1881, (Marriage Bonds) Wayne, 1851-1856 (Bride's Index) Wilkes, 1851-1856 (Bride's Index) Yadkin, (Marriage Bonds and Certificates) The existence of these records is fortunate because most North Carolina marriages were not recorded before 1868. After 1868 the register of deeds in each county was given the task of issuing marriage licenses. Many of these records are of marriage bonds. Marriage bonds have been common in the South. They were posted by the groom alone or with a second person, usually the father or the brother of the bride, to defray the costs of litigation in the event the marriage was nullified. Bonds were posted in the jurisdiction where the marriage was to take place, often in the bride's home county. These bonds, the only marriage records maintained in some jurisdictions, were usually annotated with the marriage date after the ceremony. 1. [CRUMP] WWI Civilian Draft Registrations
    2. Constance M. Diamond
    3. Here is where the Crump Draft records came from at Ancestry.com --Constance WWI Civilian Draft Registrations http://www.Ancestry.com/search/rectype/inddbs/3172a.htm Description: : In 1917 and 1918, approximately 24 million men, (98% of men present in America), born between 1873 and 1900 completed draft registration cards. During these two years, three registration days were held in each district where the registrant completed the registration card. Information found on these cards generally included, among other information, birth date, birth location, father's birthplace, and the address of next of kin. This civilian registration is often confused with induction into the military; however, only a small percentage of these men were actually called up for military service. Originally posted to Ancestry.com in January of 1998 and taken from the original draft cards, this database provides information on a fraction of the men mustered. This update, part of an ongoing project, adds over 200,000 names to the previously posted database and brings the total number of names provided to almost 900,000. It adds information on registrants from Alabama, Arkansas, Hawaii, Illinois, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, and Vermont. It should be noted that aliens were required to register but were not subject to induction into the American military. Persons already in the military did not register. Recent Italian emigrants wrote their last names first, resulting in some cards being filed under first names. Cards of Hispanics may be filed under their mother's maiden name surname if the registrant gave both parents' surnames. Also, men who resided in British territories sometimes listed themselves simply as British citizens without noting their origin in Canada, Australia, Ireland, Jamaica, etc. Illiterate men were unable to spell their names and birth location, so researchers should be quite flexible in searching for the spelling of names of illiterate men. NOTE: This database, although providing information on only 3.75% of all men registered, represents approximately 10% of all counties nationwide. Researchers will find complete coverage of Alaska, Delaware, Idaho and Nevada and a good representation from Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Vermont. Bibliography: Banks, Ray. World War I Civilian Draft Registrations, Salt Lake City, UT, 1995-.

Constance AVP.COM Newsletter ================== Advanced Virus Protection (AVP) Virus Protection for the Real World.(TM) This newsletter is brought to you by PerfectSupport(TM) a division of Central Command Inc. Medina, Ohio: Central Command's Emergency Virus Response Team (EVRT) has now reported several new variants of the original Internet Worm LoveLetter. These variants have been spreading as fast as the original with the same deadly payload, which has already reached an epidemic level never seen before throughout the world. "We are now seeing 4 new variants of the I-Worm.LoveLetter worm spreading rapidly in-the-wild and expecting this number to increase in the next few days," Said Steven Sundermeier, Manager of Technical Services at Central Command Inc. "Our EVRT (Emergency Virus Response Team) is continually working around the clock to stop this global outbreak and keep our customers completely protected," Concluded Sundermeier. Cental Command estimates that 2.5 million PC users have been infected in the United States alone from I-Worm.LoveLetter or its' counterparts. Currently the subject lines of the known variants are: Subject: ILOVEYOU. Subject: Susitikim shi vakara kavos puodukui... Subject: Fw: Joke These worms are of high risk, and are aggressively infecting computer users. Central Command strongly urges all computers user to continually update their antivirus software and stay informed over the next few days or until this epidemic is under control.
