He received a land grant in now Hart Co., KY where he moved his family and died there. Joshua was descended from William CRUMP of York Co., VA. Several CRUMP descendants moved to Missouri. One of the earliest was Francis Marion CRUMP (b. 1846 KY) who is buried in Olean, MO. I would be interested in any information on this line of CRUMPs (VA/KY/MO). I have Crumps born & dying in both months you mentioned. There are two major groups of Crumps in this area. Most local researchers seem to think the groups never mixed but I 'm not sure about that. There are too many connections way back when, that seem to disprove that belief. Anyway, one of my major Crumps was Elijah Crump but he was born in 1838 in Boone Co Missouri. Elijah was my g-grandfather and there were three more Crump generations before him, here in Callaway/Boone Co area. Before that, during the 1700's, they were all still in Virginia, New Kent Co, and migrated through Kentucky to Missouri. Let me know who you are especially interested in, I'll see where or if they fit in with mine. Jacki chachipup@yahoo.com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I just found your 2000 posting on Rootsweb. Hope you are still out there. I am a g-granddaughter of Elijah Crump who married Mary Jane Jones. John Crump/Anna Sapp were Elijah's parents and I have another 6 generations back if you are still interested. Joseph John, John (again), etc. Joseph John Crump married Elizabeth Hilliard and my current search efforts have been for her. I would love to compare names & dates with you, see if they are all the same. There are so many Patricks & Andersons in this family, I have trouble keeping them all straight. You could reply to my e-mail address, chachipup@yahoo.com it would probably be faster and more sure to get to me. 1. [CRUMP] Andrew McQuitty
    2. chester buchanan
    3. Likely brother-in-law. Andrew McQuitty, Jr. (1771-1857) was in the Femme de Osage Creek area of the upper Louisiana Territory in 1801 with George Crump (Sr.? or Jr.?) and Samuel Watkins. Andrew married Mary Crump in June 13, 1799 in Bullitt or Jefferson Co., KY. My communication with another Crump relative (see below) indicated that George Sr died in 1805 in St. Louis, so the George listed in the newspaper is likely Mary's brother. There was a George Crump in Boone Co in 1821 - so was Andrew McQuitty, Jr. I am assuming this is George Jr. "I am Carolyn and my ancestor is George Crump from VA. He died in St Louis,MO in 1805 and I know little about him since he died so soon. I don't know who his parents are. His daughter Mary Crump Married Andrew McQuitty in Jefferson County, KY in 1799 and also Lucy Crump married John Stuart in Jefferson County,Ky in 1799. John Stuart and Andrew McQuitty were executors of George's estate, with George's wife Elizabeth and John finally asked to be taken off since Elizabeth was spending the money before an inventory was done." A valuable family horse belonging to Henry CRUMP, deputy county collector, was killed yesterday. Dr. H. B. ADAIR, of Kansas City, claimed that the horse had hydrophobia. The animal heretofore has been gentle. Thursday it grew wild and had a tendency to bite everything in sight and was extremely vicious. Mr. CRUMP does not know when the horse was bitten. Several weeks ago a dog affected with rabies bit several animals on the FRANKLIN farm east of town and a number of animals have been killed in consequence. ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ====================================================== neirbo8 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
