If you're tired enough, maybe "Moore" does look like "Maude". Whatever the girl's parentage, I guess Richard Crump and Pelham Moore both liked the name "Cassandra" for their daughters. What is a greater puzzle is that Cassandra Crump dau of the Richard Crump born 1711 is stated by Clopton descendants to have married William Clopton about 1735 and they had daughters Cassandra and Catherine. Both names are pretty rare in NK. Both used by Pelham Moore. Interesting, but probably impossible to verify anything. This is listed in the New Kent Register of St. Peter's. Robert was most likely a son of Stephen Crump and Elizabeth. Stephen Crump was a son of William Crump, the immigrant to York County, Va. Joseph's wife may have been a Cassandra Moore. No proof, but it seems likely. She was a Cassandra, but her surname does not appear in any records. Josiah lived & died in Northampton NC. Richard most likely is the one who died in or near Surry Co., Va. in 1798. Robert lived and died in New Kent. Joseph moved further west in North Carolina and Charles died in Northampton NC about 1763, single with no descendants. There is no proof as to what happened to the daughters. Richard and Frances Crump seem to have founded another Crump line. Bonnie Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Yes, I'm sure Lemmie had 2 daughters and 4 sons because one of the daughters was my mother. I never got to meet my mother because I was given up for adoption. I did get to meet her sister which is my aunt and yesterday she confirmed the kids for me. I had not talked with her in years, and frankly was afraid to call. You know how it is, you wait so long to call a person, you don't want to get yelled at once you do. I'm having the most difficult time with the Crump branch of the tree. All the other branches are going ok. Lemmie was my grandpa, from what I've heard, quite a character. He road the trains and was a hobo! That's just not good! Bless his heart. My great grandfather William Henry Crump (b 1851 in boston, d 1920) married Clara Alberta Blodgett, was son of Henry Crump and Lucy Scales. I was reviewing my line (after watching the genealogy show Who Do You Think You Are for if any of my ancestors were in boston or salem during the witch trials) and recalled a family story that we were related to the jewelry store Crumps in some way. I wondered how to find the connection, if there is one. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Dolly Elizabeth Morris Goodman (since in 1930 they show no kids). HIS parents are probably: Albert Lemmie Crump (18) is listed in 1920 Census as Step-Son to Chris Hager and Bertha. He has 1/2 brother Last name of Brosa (16) which means that Bertha was also married before Hagar and after Crump. MO Marriage records show: Lem Crump m. Bertha Schrader 8 Sep 1898 Cape Girardeau (then they probably had Albert Lemmie Crump). Wlliam (T or S) Brosa m. Bertha Crump 1 Sep 1903 (then had brother). Chris Hager m. Bertha Schrader 9 Dec 1906 in Dunklin (had Ruby) 1900 census show: (liberty & Welch, Cape Girardeau) Lemial Crump Bertha I Crump Leslie L. (1 yr) (son) My best guess is that Lemuel/Lem/Lemial died between 1900 and 1903 .. you might want to write Cape Girardeau and see if they keep death records there. Her brothers and sisters were Baby (now Dollie) Crump 12/8/1935, Harry August Crump 11/26/1939 (he too was originally Baby Crump on his birth certificate.) Then there were two more brothers, Albert Ceicel Crump born abt 1923 and Robert Melvin Crump born abt 1920's. Her father was Albert Lemmie Crump born in Cape Giraudo (sp?) Mo. in 1901.Albert died in St. Charles, Mo. in 1986 at the age of 85, he would be my grandfather. He was married to Dolly Elizabeth Morris Goodman. She was born in 1900 and died after 1968 but I don't have an exact date. She must have been married once before Albert Crump, either to Morris or Goodman, I haven't figured it out yet.
