Ken, I was directing my questions about California Crumley deaths to Geniebug but they will go for you too. I have a 30+ year brick wall with an INKS family who settled a ranch in Tehama Co. California. during the gold rush. Jackson "Jack" Inks had led several wagon trains from the MO/ARK area to that area and finally took his wife and family out there and settled. Eliza Crumley was his wife. Two of her brothers were out there with them and took over the ranch after both of the INKS parents (Jack & Eliza INKS) died at an early age. There is evidence that INKS children returned after being taken back to their original home in NW Arkansas and there are still some of them in the area. I just can never get a "living" person to speak to me! So, I am interested in seeing about the Crumley brothers futures, also Wests and Swopes that I know the sisters (their children) married and lived without there at a later date-around Chico. Linda, I do not have an INKS in my database. I have about 13 or 14 Elizabeth or Elizas in my data base and a couple of these would be the age to have participated in the CA gold rush. It will take me some time to look at all of these folks to try and narrow it down to a likely one or two. Charles Heaton Crumley died in CO and had a daughter Elizabeth that married Moses Franklin. I don't have a record of her having a second husband. There was an Elizabeth Crumley in Ohio, dau. of Thomas Crumley of Dickerson Ohio. I am not sure how much help I can be with this family. Do you know the brothers names that were there with her? I have found that these 30+ year brick walls are sometimes related to name changes that in those days are not well recorded. Had one of those in my family that took me 14-15 years to find. Let's see if Nancy comes up with anything further on her search of CA deaths. She was looking the other night for me trying to trace a Bessie Crumley that went to CA married a MCLain. I trust you are well.
