I have a question about General Mardy Crumley. Are we talking the General Crumley born to James Alexander Crumley and Sarah Robinson July 29th, 1893? The reason I ask is I have him in my records as General Hardy Crumley? I don't know where I got this...except that the name origin ...by my thinking. General would have been from Nancy Jackson's brother who died in the civil war on May 26, 1862. Now...this would have been this General's Great Uncle. Yes, I have him down as General M. I have no middle name...and I didn't find any in the records. Just as I have never found out Leander's middle name to go with the "F". As to the Hardy in his middle name, this would have been his GGrandfather's name on the Jackson side (Nancy's father). As I said, this is just my thinking...or am I out in left field? Does anyone have documentation of the name Mardy? I can see how the H and M could be confused, but I have no idea for sure which is correct now. Roger Kirk
