Then where did I get the information that James was born 1712 in Yorkshire County in England? Also, Fact 2 in Family Tree Maker file says he arrived in Chester Co., PA and purchased Opequan farm, 250 acres, from Giles Chapman, Sr. ??? Help, Truett :) Jean
All info that I have point to James` birthdate as 1712. James` family was given this land on this river from the Quakers. In fact, 70 Quaker families were given over 100,000 acres on this river which included James family. When James died, he was living on a 600 acre plantation, Apple Ridge, near Whithall, Frederick Co., Va.
