Hello List - This is my first contact with you. Could not ignore the snowstorm of e-mail re Crumley central site. Great idea! Have been meaning to contact Patricia Howard. Unless I missed something, her info on my Crumley line stops w/Thomas Crumley being married twice and producing three offspring. Thomas Jefferson Crumley (b.1829 d.April 1886) m, Rachel McCroskey in 1847 and had two children. He then m. Nancy Ann Hickey on Dec. 26, 1858. They had the following children: Lula Dolphus Flora Annie Lawrence Nellie Altona(Dolly) Minnie Hattie Mary Herbert Jefferson (b. Mar 4,1879 in Gate City, VA) (d.Jul 8, 1957 in Richmond, VA) OnAug 11, 1904, in Knoxville, TN Herbert J. m. Ethel Gay Miller - they had six children. Their oldest daughter, Aldine, was my mother. I am now 74 years old. My grandfather, Herbert Jefferson Crumley, was well known to me. At times I lived with him and my 'Big Mama' and later we lived across the street from them. Visits from Bristol relatives were a highlight. As long as my mother and my grandmother lived, letters, pictures, all legal papers, even mortgage contracts were saved and I still have some of them - others were shared with my Crumley cousins. Patricia, if you are interested, please contact me and I will provide you with all the info I have up to this date. With the exception of Minnie who was a spinster, all of my Crumley great-aunts married - to Patton, McKinney, Little, Pippin, Davis. Might be of interest to others. Will be watching for the Crumley Central! A Cousin - Eleanor Gay Grande

We are distant cousins as John Clark (Jack) and Jane Crumly were by ggg grandparents also. You might also be interested in the fact that I have made application to the DAR through Jane's line and am awatiing information from them. I also had a note that you mother had written a book. Is this in error? If so, how can I obtain a copy of the book and please advise the cost. I would love to have one and also make a donation to the local library which has a terrific section of published genealogical material. You family lived in Tennessee. Are you still in the Tennessee area. My parents are your age and live in Geraldine, AL, just a stones throw from Crossville, AL where Jack and Jane are buried. Look forward to hearing from you.
