    3. If Benjamin H. was born in 8/20/1779 and William Smith was born April 04, 1794 then Benjamin would have been 14 years old???? Would Quakers let their kids marry that early??     3. Jerry, your Benjamin did not have a son by the name of William Smith. If he did marry a Joan Gregory, he would had a child at his age of 14. UNLIKELY. The Benjamin who was a brother to my William Smith did have a son, William Smith (b. 1829). This William Smith was the sixth child of Benjamin and Margaret Brooks.
