Perhaps the best evidence that Catharine Crumley's mother was in fact Hannah Mercer, is hidden somewhere in the 74 boxes of files stored at the Michigan State Archives. The web page referenced below presents the most common fake Mercer genealogy, which, of course, is the one I listed this afternoon.
