    3. About James Crumley's children: I do not know of any evidence that there was a James, Jr. He did have a grandson James (William's first son) who stayed in Frederick County, Virginia - some of the information people have put online even has James, Jr. marrying Mary Stonebridge, who was the wife of grandson James. Also, is there any evidence that the 5 children of James Crumley were born in 1733, 1735, 1737, 1739, and 1741 (and, especially, another one in 1743)? And what about the birthdates for William's children? A couple of weeks ago Marti indicated that her ancestor Catharine was born 18 December 1766 (based, I understand, on very old family records). Apparently the next child, Aaron, wasn't born until 1771. Five years is a long time between children. Do we have them in the correct order - there seems to be pretty good evidence that William's 15 children were listed in order by age? Maybe there were more than 15 and one or more died young - if so, I'm sure we'll never know. paul -----Original Message----- From: Truett Crumley [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, April 18, 2002 5:24 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [CRUMLEY] Chairpersons Jean, you failed to list the children of William and first spouse (Hannah Mercer). They were: James (1765), Ann (1766), Wm Jr. (1767), Catherine (Catron) (1768), Aaron Mercer (1772). The first child by William and 2nd spouse (Sarah Dunn) was Jane, then Thomas. You listed Thomas and Elizabeth Gardner as having 14 children, which is correct, but you have them arranged in somewhat different order than I. I have Thomas and Elizabeth coming to Harrison Co., Ohio about 1811 along with some brothers and sisters. Also the Dickersons came too. Many of Thomas` children married Dickersons. James` children were: John (1733), William Sr. (1735), Mary (1737), Henry (1739), Samuel (1741), and James Jr. (1743). Jr may have died at birth. I have been slow to respond recently as I have rheumatoid arthitis which overwhems me at times. JERRY, I can help with John`s immediate family. 3. If no one can provide documentation, Paul, it shouldn't be on our website. This is exactly the kind of thing we're trying to filter out. >Also, is there any evidence that the 5 children of James > Crumley were born in 1733, 1735, 1737, 1739, and 1741 (and, especially, > another one in 1743)? Good question. Anyone have an answer? Jerry
