    2. Thank you! I'm adding another page for more links that I have! And I'm adding some family info over the next few days also. And some of my other interests. I plan on being quite busy for the next few days! My CRUMLEY/CROMLEY connection. George Cromley/CRUMLEY married my ggg aunt Annie RITTER/RUTTER(ba.1835). They had a son George(ba1856). Annie was a widow by 1880. I am looking for earlier census info with big George on it for an approximate dob and other family members. Possible parents are George CRUMLEY(ba.1795) born in PA. and Susanna unk(ba.1810). born in D.C. according to an 1850 Phila.,PA census. Take care and good luck, Ella

    1. [CRUMLEY] Chapple Columbus Crumley
    2. Ricky & Melissa's Mail
    3. The following is the complete info on Chapple Columbus Crumley that comes from the book (which is no longer in publication) "Driftwood Heritage, A History of Driftwood Texas" by Minnie Lea Rogers. It was published by the Driftwood Ladies-Aid and edited by Minnie Lea Rogers and printed in 1970 by Capital Printing Co., Austin, TX. There was a second printing in 1976. pg 63 CHAPPLE C. CRUMLEY FAMILY Mr. Chapple C. Crumley bought a place on Onion Creek north-east of the present Driftwood Center in the year of 1882. He bought this land from the Reverend John Garison and this was the place on which Reverend Garison and his family lived when they first came to this area. Mrs. Crumley (Mary Selina) was a sister to Mr. John N. Whisenant and the Crumley's and Whisenants had made the trip to Texas in the same wagon train coming from Georgia. They were in the group, also, that had gone to Colorado and had made the return trip to Texas (see Whisenant Story). they finally wound up in the Driftwood area where they spent the rest of their lives. When they moved here they had four children and six more were born to them. The childrens names were: Richard Tom, Lizzie S., William M., John C., Lillie E., Smithie C., Mary Annie, Herbert F., Albert R. and Jessie Maudie. all these children went to the Driftwood school, part of them went to it when it was taught in the old Reaves schoolhouse and the others went when it had been moved to the present Driftwood Center. Mr. and Mrs. Crumley were religious people of the Baptist faith and when a Baptist Church was built near their home in 1898 we find that Mr. Crumley's name headed the list of persons contributing money and labor toward the building of it. He was Church Clerk of this church for many years and the nimutes that he kept have proven to be invaluable aids in our writing of the history of the Driftwood Baptist Church. The visiting preachers often stayed in his home when preaching in this building and his good wife prepared special dishes for them -- according to Maude, who said the children were always glad to see the preachers for this reason. Jessie Maude, the youngest of the Crumley children, is the only one of the children living (1969). She married Elwain Mading and they live in Dripping Springs, Texas. Their daughter Verna Louise is married to Anton Peterson and they live in Austin, Texas. "Miss Maude," as she is affectionately called by her many friends, is carrying on in the tradition of her parents as a faithful worker in the Baptist Church. She has been a teacher in the Beginners Department of the Dripping Springs Baptist Sunday School for many years and has seen many of her early pupils grow up to be fine men and women. The other children married -- some to local people and others to people in adjoining communities. The oldest daughter, Lizzie S., married Mr. John Langston and her son, Jesse and a daughter Mrs., Ila Mae Horner live in Dripping Springs, Texas. Mr. Will Crumley married Miss Roxie Langston and several of their descendents live near Driftwood today. The nearest is a granddaughter Mrs. Vaughn Bell (the former Birdie Mae McIntyre). She and Vaughn live about a half mile form the Driftwood postoffice. Her mother is Mrs. Fannie McIntyre, daughter of the Will Crumleys. Her sister, Mrs. Pearl Ruston and her brother Bobbie L McIntyre live on the Driftwood Rural Route northeast of Driftwood. When Mr. Chappal C. Crumley died in 1907, the Reverend Harry Corbett conducted his funeral services. He expressed his appreciation of this man in a glowing tribute to this man's life, which was published and which Mrs. Mading has and treasures. Mrs. Crumley died in 1930. She and Mr. Crumley are buried in the Driftwood Cemetery. I do have a copy of this book if anyone has any questions or would be interested in the info on the Whisenant Family Melissa in TX

    1. [CRUMLEY] My "new" URL. This is the last mass email I swear!
    2. Thank God!! Someone was great enough to inform me that AOL has changed part of it's url from Hometown to user.aol. And the person doesn't work for AOL! AOL never informed me! This is so RUDE! I swear...I will never send another mass email again! I didn't join all these lists to have things not go right. I really want to get my website out there. I think that there are really good links and old pictures to be seen by all who care to look. I might send a mass email if it is a birth or death situation. But only to those that would truly matter. Here's my URL... http://user.aol.com/ella12866/index.html Take care, Ella

    1. [CRUMLEY] Mass email #4. I am so sorry! AOL is having problems! Pages won't load!
    2. I hope this gets out to everyone that I sent the original one out to. Hi all (again), I see that AOL is having difficulties with their webpages. So...after I was up all night putting my site together and after I sent another mass email giving a shout about my site...I feel like Charlie Brown. ARGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! (on my back) Please try my site again later. I really do hope it works. If not...then it's back to the drawing board! thanks, Ella

    1. [CRUMLEY] See old photos and 100+ very useful links on my new and improved web site!
    2. Hi everyone, First let me say thank you for the suggestions with my filing cabinet and the warm welcomes. None of the suggestions for the filing cabinet worked, but I am happy with the info I received from you wonderful people out there. Now... I finally finished enough of my web site to send it out to the masses. I have very old family photos there along with "My Favorite Genealogy Links." A web page with....dah...dah....dah...dah... nothing but genealogy links. Most of them are completely free. Only a few of them have limited access. When it's limited access...you still get enough free info to get you started. Mostly all of the links are links to web pages that could be beneficial for everyone. Other area or name specific sites would include... Philadelphia, PA. sites and sites that cover all of PA. incl. a site: Orphanages in PA. Irish research sites English research sites German research sites American Indian Resources a large EAVES/EVES/EYVES surname site a large RITTER surname site a large KERCHER surname site genealogy sites for children The URL is... http://hometown.aol.com/ella12866/index.html Good luck all, Ella Happy Hunting! Surnames I am researching are: COLEMAN, HARLING and EAVES from Lancashire, England to Phila.,PA KIRCHER, WEIKEL and RITTER/RUTTER from Germany BAIRD and JORDAN from Ireland CHRISTALDI from Italy Any variations? That's ok. I've seen a few. Other names in my family are... CRUMLEY/CROMLEY, HARVEY, MARKER, STEIN, STOLLIE/STOLLEY, TITTERMARY and growing. My family website with lots of links... http://hometown.aol.com/ella12866/index.html I piece together the past so my children won't be as confused as I am.

    3. I live near the Crossville cemetery and you are correct -- Atha is buried at Crossville -- her marker is only a stone with some lettering carved in it. 3. Truett and Linda.. I am emailing as attachment to your personal email address a scanned copy of the article as you requested you would like to see it. I was not sure about sending an attachment via Crumley-L. It may not appear to be readable upon opening online, but I printed a copy as a test and it printed as a full size page and was clear to read. > I only scanned the first page as the second page had no reference to any of the men. > From: Diane Holdridge > Date: 2002/05/10 Fri PM 08:22:29 EDT > To: [email protected] > Subject: [CRUMLEY] Jim Crumley from Arkansas --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!?
