Marion Wallace Crowther, b. September 1850 in Oldham, Lancashire, England, married a Mr. Sam Hicks about 1868 in Kansas City, MO. They moved to Golden and Black Hawk, Colorado sometime shortly thereafter where the couple gave birth to their daughter, Lizzie in January 1870. Marion Crowther Hicks left Sam Hicks filing for divorce in Denver, Colorado in about 1879. Mr. Hicks apparently took Lizzie back to England with him. Marion Crowther Hicks married George Hemingway Birtby Hall on May 2, 1880 in Golden, Colorado. The couple gave birth to a son, Maurice Crowther Hall about 1881. Maurice Crowther Hall graduated from Colorado College in 1905 and married Lola Mae Davis in June 1906. They moved approximately two years later to Maryland/Washington D.C. area. Maurice Crowther Hall was a Veterinarian and became the Chief of Bureau of Animal Husbandry, Department of Agriculture. He served in WWI. He is apparently listed in "Who's Who" as a result of his discovery of a cure for hookworm. Maurice Crowther Hall's granddaughter, Nora, and I are participating in a Diversity Day project sponsored by our company. I am attempting to assist Nora in finding as much biographical and genealogical information on this family as we can in 30 days. The final product, following the Diversity Day project, will be presented to Nora's 14 year old daughter, Nell. Any information or assistance you can provide to assist us in this project would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, in advance, to all you genealogy angels out there for any help you can provide. Once this is completed, I'll get back to my own genealogical search. I am located in the Northeast (Connecticut/Massachusetts area) and if I can assist any of you with something, please feel free to ask. Lila Ashear [email protected]
