Hi Listers I have recently joined this Crowther mailing list and I am searching for a family who were residing in Southowram, Halifax, West Yorkshire. Nancy Crowther, age 21, spinster, married Alfred Gledhill at the Halifax P.C. on September 30th 1861, the marriage certificate states that her father was Jeremiah and his occupation was a delver, they were residing in Southowram at the time of Nancy's marriage. Barbara Fuller asked about Nancy Crowther, age 21, spinster, married Alfred Gledhill at the Halifax P.C. on September 30th 1861; father: Jeremiah, delver. The only Jeremiah CROWTHER old enough to have been Nancy's father in the 1881 census was an 81-year old widower born in Halifax, retired Canal Carrier residing Kildwick, Yorks. His 26-year old niece, Kate Crowther is either residing with him or visiting; she was born in Clayton Le Moors.
