Is there anyone there searching a CROWTER family? Back to around 1800 the Crowters were all born (and often married) in Brighton or Hove, until Henry Crowter who was born in St Mary's, Southampton. Family names are commonly - Alfred, Ernest, Henry, Jane, Emily, Or CROWTHER (in Brighton and Hove, Sussex, or Hampshire before 1800.) So far, my ancestors are all Crowters, but I'm sure the name changed from Crowther at some point. I don't know how reliable it is, but on the IGI, several relatives I know were Crowter are listed as Crowther. There's even a birth registered as Crowther and the father's name is given as Crowter. Has anyone else found anything like this? Katherine Luck, Sussex
