    1. CROWTHER in Calderdale
    2. John E. Crowther
    3. I'd like to refresh my previous posting in the hope that any newcomers might be able to help........ Robert CROWTHER and his wife Betty lived with their children Israel, Charles, Squire, Edwin, James and Emma at Pickwood Scar, between Copley and Norland on the outskirts of Halifax, West Yorkshire, around 1800-1850. I already hold information regarding the families of these siblings but I would be pleased to hear from anyone who has any information regarding any of these individuals, their ancestors or their descendants, many of whom are known to reside within the Calderdale area of West Yorkshire. The builders A. & O. Crowther of Greetland are believed to be connected somewhere along the line, and it is thought that there are links to Crowthers in the Erringden area. The family of James and his wife Hannah were living at Apple House Terrace in Luddenden in 1881. Israel had died by this time, but his wife Mary still lived at Heath Hall, Norland. Already there is documented history of Crowther families from as far back as the late 13th century through to the Civil War period. My ultimate goal is to create a directory of Crowthers in Calderdale to show how the various families originated and developed over the years. ANY information about ANY Crowther is welcomed; each small piece is a contribution to the whole picture, and if it does not yet fit to what I already have then it could do one day. Someone somewhere out there knows something; if it is you then please call me. Regards, John. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
