Although this does not fit immediately to known family data, I feel sure that it will have a connection perhaps via previous generations, The surname is common in the Halifax/Huddersfield area; Fixby and Elland are between these two towns. All information is welcome; each piece is a part of the huge puzzle. For this reason, I should be grateful for any further information that you could offer. not that I am aware of...the only Crowther I came upon from England was a George Crowther b. 1852 ENG. He was in St Joseph MO by 2 Nov 1887 when he mar. Mary Burges a MO native. The 1890 MO census gave the info he was 38 yrs old and born in Eng (no other details) . I suppose your Joseph could be a relative. The Lanc census for years up to abt 1887 might show any relation George and Joseph might have had. This was an off-shoot of my direct line and I kind of gave up on following it to England. Crowther seemed to be a fairly common name there...sorry ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, August 23, 2008 5:38 PM Subject: Re: [CROWTHER] Crowther family Lancashire > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: katierowley_1 > Surnames: > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.crowther/141.1/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > I also am looking for Crothers from Lancashire.
