On January 7th Ancestry/Rootsweb announced that beginning March 2nd, 2020, they will discontinue their Mail Lists functionality. Upon receiving this notice Paul L. LeBlanc immediately began searching for another website that could accommodate the mailing list format he uses on Rootsweb. After much research, he determined Google Groups was the best option. So he has created two new public Google groups: “Our Acadian Roots” and “Our Louisiana Roots”, which between them will consolidate 77 Acadian and Cajun, 10 uniquely Louisiana, many French surname, and 32 Louisiana Parish Lists. The new consolidated Genealogy research/discussion groups will focus not only on Acadian and Louisiana ancestors, but also on "All Early French in North America". Come visit the groups' new websites and take a look at the new format: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/ouracadianroots or https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/ourlouisianaroots If you would then like join either or both of them, just click "Join group to post" located at the top left of the page. If any questions or problem joining contact Paul at [email protected] If you would like to create your own "OUR ______ ROOTS" Google Group for your family or Parish/County, contact me at [email protected] . I may have some ideas to help you get started. In addition, we may be able to add your new group to our new and expanding research family. For more information, Paul L LeBlanc at [email protected]

Hello Barbara; I have Leonard Basil CROTTEAU (aka CROTEAU) and Ruth Hazel BLACK in my web site. Some of the descendants are still alive, but the lineage back to Vincent is there as well. Seems when the CROTEAU family move to the USA they ended up with a double T inserted in the name, in some cases. Ride With Pride! Looking for descendants of Leonard and Ruth Hazel Black-Croteau. Dakota County, Minnesota.
Seeking information regarding POB, DOB, parents names, etc. for Rachel Croteau who married Michael John Connolly (or Connelly), an immigrant from Scotland in 1929, b. 1905. They lived in Thiells, NY. He was employed for 36 years at the Letchworth Village Developmental Center as a stationary engineer, retiring in 1965. Rachel is also believed to have been employed at Letchworth in some capacity for a few years. Michael died in 1991 and was survived by Rachel. The subject of this inquiry was a good friend of my mother and I was trying to learn something about her to use in a family history that I'm preparing. Any help will be appreciated. Hi, **This message is being sent to the CROTEAU mailing list.** The email address that RootsWeb has for the CROTEAU list admin [email protected] is bouncing, so RootsWeb is looking to make contact with the list admin. Will the list admin please contact Andrew Billinghurst ([email protected]) so that we know that you are still maintaining this list and please reply quoting this message. List members there is nothing for you to worry about and nothing for you to do, it is probably just an email problem for the person looking after the day-to-day management of this list. Rest assured that this does not mean that your list is in danger. Thanks!
