    1. Lisa/Steve /Tania...Re: Notes
    2. Burt Crosswhite
    3. Tania and I were sharing information on Crosswhite/Stout marriages. There were a number of them. As it went: Godfrey Daniel Stout married my gt. aunt Elizabeth Crosswhite, sister of my gt. grandfather Abraham L. Crosswhite, both children of John Melvin Crosswhite, Sr. and Elizabeth Stone. The note from Tania was referring to an earlier note in which I told her that the only information I had on G. D. Stout was the names of his parents. I don't know that I need any more than that, but who knows? One of the most challenging things for me, I think, is trying to unravel all the relationships among the NE TN families. Nearly all these families are connected in some fashion, and occasionally, in unexpected fashion. One of the few names I haven't found in my family lines - so far - is Perkins. I mention that only because a few days ago there appeared on the JCT mail list information that a Perkins, I think Jacob, had sued someone (who?) in Johnson or Carter County for slander. I don't remember the date of the lawsuit, but someone apparently had referred to him by some unsavory adjective(s) regarding his heritage (that stuff is still going on today). I later discovered that George Crosswhite sold 130 acres in 1813 to William Baker that bordered land owned by a Jacob Perkins and land owned by Thomas Johnson (we know that Crosswhites married Bakers and Johnsons). I probably would never have known some of those things without these mail lists... So folks ramble on, if you will, I might learn something from you ramblings... And, Steve, I do believe you have all the information I have on the Iowa folks. Burt
