Recently found another Crosswhite researcher and this is what he has on his family. Maybe someone out there can give us a clue to how these fit into the N.C. Crosswhites that we know about. This is from Jack Crosswhite: Sandy, my grandfathers name was Samuel G. Crosswhite, born in Washington, Co. Va. around 1876. I haven't been able to find the name of his father or mother, however I have just started the search. In the Virginia 1880 census there is the Golden Crosswhite family. Goden is listed as age 47 with birth place as North Carolina wife, Elizabeth, age 45, and born in Virginia. Children listed as being born in Virginia are as follows: William, age 21; Robert, age 15; Milton, age 14; Rachel, age 12; Augustus, age 7; Lucy, age 5; Kate, age 3; and Emma, one month. Information that I have from another source, is that Golden's father is Robert Crosswhite, born about 1790 and that Roberts wife is Cherokee Indian named Annia (although the census of 1850 lists her as "Nancy"). Their three children are: Sarah, age 22; Golden age 19; and Francis, age 25. Francis is a male. Robert moved from Surry County, N.C. to Washington Co. VA. He gave me the name of his source but the aol.com address is not longer a working e-mail address and have been unable to contact his source. I have written him to see if he has another address for him. Sandy Stith
