    3. In showshoes the troops marched off to fight the enemy. David Cronk and his brother John Cronk had both signed up to fight. Their father was probably John, brother of the below James father of Hiram. John David and Hiram marched not together but towards each other and fought on opposite sides. John Cronk was wounded in battle and died of his wounds.
