They were both settled there by fellows named Abraham Cronk, but they are two different Abrahams. The Sophiasburg one had adult sons when he came in 1786, and for the most part, the generations stayed in the Prince Edward County area for quite a while. The other Cronks, from which I am descended, settled in both Fredericksburg Twp and Percy/Cramahe Township in the early 1790s and had mostly young children when they came from Caughnawaga NY. Where am I going? The Northumberland Abraham had a son named John Cronk (b. abt 1885) who married a Hannah Peterson, and had at least one child Jacob. Abraham also had male children named Abraham (b. 1781), Jacob (b 1796), Samuel (b. 1791) and Nicholas (b 1800). At least one daughter Mary too. Most of this family and their offspring stayed in the Northumberland COunty area, and, having come to Canada with the likes of the Dingman and Woodcock clans, often married members of these families. So if you're finding a Cronk married to a Dingman or Woodcock, you're likely related to me. Please drop me a note!!! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
