Fanny survived him until abt 1903. They married when John was in his 20's so unless he was a young widow I would assume that you are looking at 2 different John's. I have several John's of different parentage but don't know their actual birth years although they would fit very well in about that year. Do you know the area or siblings, children, of your John?
