> >==== CRONK Mailing List ==== > >Any famous or infamous Cronks in your line? Well, we all know that Walter Cronkite is in the line somewhere. (Sure wish I would have saved that article in the Dallas (TX) newspaper 20-odd years ago.) But, a daughter of Hezekiah (b. New Brunswick, Canada) was Hortense F. Cronkhite. Tinnie left home and went "on the stage." Cousins in Maine tell me she left to follow the Chataqua. But, my grandmother said that Tinnie's name was never spoken of again in the family. One odd note to the story: In my gr-grandmother's photo album is a picture of Tinnie in a geisha costume. Whether this was cut out from a playbill or sent to Nellie Cronkhite Tozier, I don't know. If anyone has a direct line to Tinnie, I would sure like them to contact me. Or if anyone would like a ".jpg" of this photo they can contact me direct. Jo Castleberry Branch Winnfield, LA
