I have a John Cronk, born in the US (probably NY) in 1785. He was married to a Sarah (Chrystler?) and was a farmer. However, I have him having at least two children (Sarah and John). John's wife Sarah died July 15, 1873 in Northumberland County, Toronto (according to Ontario death records), where she is listed as having been born in the US and was a widow at the time of her death.
