Three or four days ago, I received a direct e-mail from a gentleman with a catchy nickname, regarding the Conkright, of which he is a member. He indicted to me that the spelling of his name was the 33rd and last known spelling of the line descending from -- I don't remember the name. MY COMPUTER CRASHED AND I LOST EVERYTHING THAT WAS ON IT, INCLUDING THE EMAIL FROM MR. CONKRIGHT. If you see this message, Mr. Conkwright, and still have your message to me on your computer, would you please repost it to me. I am very interested in corresponding with you, and will do so just as soon as I am, hopefully, successful in contacting you though the list. If anyone is in touch with Mr. Conkwright, please forward this message to him. Thank you all so very much. G. E. Hamilton [email protected] 8/3/97

I am looking for Mary Cronk, married 16 Apr 1845 to John Rediker, according to the records of the Reformed Dutch Church of Walden, Orange County, NY. I have no other information on Mary Cronk except the baptisms of her 7 children between 1846 and 1864. Since there has been a discussion on Cronks in NY am hoping someone has a Mary who would be about the right age -- born in the 1820's? Elizabeth (Sutherland) Richardson [email protected]

Hi! Can't help you on your Jeremiah CRONK at the moment, but did any of your NY CRONK ancestors have a sister or daughter named Clarissa CRONK?? She is my ggg-grandmother. She was born about 1810 in NY or Vermont (census records give one or the other). I know nothing about her family or parents (she's a classic dead-end). I'll sort through my CRONK stuff again for any hints on your Jeremiah in NY. I try to keep every shred that I hear about a CRONK in NY or Vermont just in case I can ever patch my Clarissa in somewhere!!! Nancy Bainter [email protected]

Way to go CLAIRE!! Let's get these Crunks figured out! Very nice to meet you Mic. There sure are a lot of J.W. Crunks running around (like that hasn't been said before) I haven't been writing much because I've had so much Crunk material to study lately, not to mention the fact that school is out for summer and I have 3 kids bugging me all the time!! I know, I know, I **try** to enjoy it. Here's my line: Descendants of Wright Crunk Generation No. 1 1. Wright Crunk was born Abt 1815 in Kentucky. He married Susan Boyce 09 May 1845 in Logan County, Kentucky. Children of Wright Crunk and Susan Boyce are: + 2 i. Lucy C. Crunk, born Abt 1854 in Missouri. + 3 ii. Frances Elizabeth "Lillie", born Abt 1856 in Missouri. 4 iii. Laura Crunk, born Abt 1860 in Missouri. 5 iv. Willie Crunk, born Abt 1862 in Missouri. + 6 v. Mattie Lee Crunk, born October 1864 in Clinton, Henry, Missouri; died 07 July 1947 in Shreveport, Caddo, Louisiana. I have just a **few** questions about my "Wright" Crunk! Hah Hah [1] He's in the 1840 Logan Co, KY census married to **someone** and has two boys under 5. Then in 1845 he marries (assumed 2nd marriage) Susan Boyce, and heads out to parts unknown because I can't find him or Susan in 1850. Then in 1860, he and Susan are living in Clinton, Missouri where most of their children are born. No sign of the two boys who were in the 1840 census. Where was he in 1850? [2] In 1870, Caldwell County, TX, Susan is living with above listed children (no sign of Wright) next door to Joseph **Wilmoth** Crunk and his wife SUSAN Gatlin, and their children. Living near are a George W. Crunk from TN with wife Fanny & children. What happened to Wright? Is Joseph Wilmoth Crunk really Joseph Wright Crunk? Could he be so heartless as to divorce my Susan and then marry another younger Susan and live right next door to his ex....I don't think so ,but.... I think something is going on here but I'm not sure what. Joseph **Wilmoth** Crunk's mother just happens to be Jemima Ann WRIGHT !! HELLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPP My plan of attack: still waiting on that marriage license hoping for some light at the end of the tunnel! Until next time..... Anne
Anyone else on this list? Thanks Mic, for sharing your CRUNKs! A couple of us cousins have been looking for you! Claire English

Hi Cousins, I've been a subscriber to the Cronk/Crank/Crunk list and have seen *no* activity yet, so I figure I'll try to start a little. Would some of you please post your CRUNK lines or CRUNK family info -- even if you don't have questions. I've got a few sideline Crunks/Cranks that I've been communicating via email and would like to meet more people researching CRUNK and CRANK surname. Or if you'd rather not post, please send me email (privately OK) so we can compare notes. I am descendant of Zaselda/Zerelda CRUNK b. 1827 AL m. William DAVIS 12 Oct 1843, Rusk Co. TX d. ca 1852. I have reason to believe she was the daughter of John W. CRUNK bca. 1800 VA m. Louisa MAYES or possibly Paschal CRUNK b. 1799 VA. Both of these men settled in Cherokee Co. TX. Claire English
In showshoes the troops marched off to fight the enemy. David Cronk and his brother John Cronk had both signed up to fight. Their father was probably John, brother of the below James father of Hiram. John David and Hiram marched not together but towards each other and fought on opposite sides. John Cronk was wounded in battle and died of his wounds. Anyone out there researching the many CRONKS who ended up in New Brunswick in the early 1800's? They have a poem about the CRONK family of New York, --- about three brothers who left Holland for NY, and how Casper did not like it and went back to Holland, where he made a fortune distilling rum or gin (can't tell, two different references). He invited the others back but they had made NY their home. Ay any rate, there were a huge clan of CRONKS, first at Mispec, New Brunswick, later at Grand Manan, NB, originally from NY. Would like to correspond with anyone researching same. ******************************************************************** Pam Wood Waugh, 730 Dunhill Drive, Orlando, FL 32825 (407)275-8514 ******************************************************************** Email: [email protected](home) or [email protected](work) Eastern Townships of Quebec genealogy page: http://www.magicnet.net/~moodies/et2.html My Family Lines: http://www.magicnet.net/~moodies "I think that I shall never see, a finished genealogy"
