Bev, You're welcome. This isn't my mother's line either but she is a Cronk and her ancestors came out of New York too. Come to think of it...I believe most Cronks came from New York or what they called New Amsterdam. Well maybe someone else will be able to use this information that's on this list. Good Luck in your search, Brenda
Brenda, This isn't my husband's line, but you certainly provided some detailed information. Great research; I appreciate your time and effort. He was from Rilland Bath, Zeeland. On his emigration document , made when he left Zeeland said that he was coming to America for religious freedom. When he came to the USA, he started a Dutch Reformed Church in Whortendyke NJ. The name of the town changed to Midland Park later in 1895. The Church was named the First Church of Holland. he later left the church he started and went to another church in Paterson, NJ. Adriaan Kraak is listed in various census with two names. First as Adriaan Kraak and later as John Cronk. He and his wife had a farm in Washington Township, Bergen County, New Jersey. I heard that his farm was later purposely flooded by the State of New Jersey to form a lake called Woodcliff Lake. I haven't found the documentation to confirm. I knkw the lake however but dont know if Washington Township included that area at that time. Do you have more info? How are you related to Adriaan Kraak? Cronk (B: 1876 D: 1957). His father was John H. Cronk (b: abt 1843, D: 1895) John's Wife was Mary Thomas Cronk (b: abt 1847) This information is in the Census Reports, the Death Record, and my mother's "Baby Book" that her mother kept for her and had a family tree for both sides going back to John H. and Mary E. Thomas Cronk. I have a copy of the page of the Town of Newburgh Record of Deaths (New York) from 1895 (included with my tree here) which lists John H. Cronk's father as "Garrett Cronk" and mother's maiden name as "Eliza Stanton". I have so far not been able to find anything about this Garrett or Gerrett Cronk or Eliza Stanton. If anyone can help with gathering some additional information or point me in a direction on Garrett and Eliza Cronk it would be most helpful. Procrastination is my middle name. Fanny Donnell was my great-great-aunt. Her middle sister Rosina married Thomas SHORTER and their daughter Jessie Rosina was my father's mother. Fanny and Rosina had an older sister Lucy who married three times to 1) Henry BROOKES, 2) Henry's brother William BROOKES and 3) John Kosiah LATTIMER. William's son, Willian jr. by his first marriage was my father's father, so when he married Jessie Rosina, Lucy became my step-great-grandmother as well as my my great-great-aunt. At Rosina's death in 1915, "E. Bull, niece" of 14 Watson St., New Cross is shown as being present. This is your Elizabeth Frances BULL nee CRONK. I had not progressed any further in the BULL and CRONK lines I can't provide any info on them. I do have Fanny and all her siblings plus their parents. Their father's line is difficult if not impossible to trace because they keep changing the spelling - DONNELL, O'DONNELL, DONALD, so I haven't tried. Her mother's people were JANESes who appear suddenly in Lewisham as an extended family in the previous generation. I believe they moved from Woolwich. Let me know if you want what I have. I wasn't aware of Elizabeth's death. What an awful way to die. So sad. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
