Author: ecronk1970 Surnames: Cronks Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.cronk/512/mb.ashx Message Board Post: John Filmore (Tinker) Cronk was my grandfather. I have my family bible (father is "Valter") Brenda you almost have all of the children listed...there was a Thurman and Melvina. Some of the dates may be slightly off. I remember my Uncle Taylor. My mother kept a lot of family information in our Bible - births, deaths, etc. I also would like to learn more about Tinker and would be happy to hear of anyone that could share more info on this line of Cronks. Oh - my father's name was actually James - his middle name was Valter. Many on my father's side of the family used their middle names. This message was originally posted as a reply to Brenda Cripps - However I am interested in hearing from anyone that may know more about this line of Cronks. 1. [Cronk] Hiram Cronk
    2. c.lynk
    3. I am not related to the Cronk family in any way. Thought some one from the Cronk family might be interested in a family bible that is on e-bay. While searching for info on my family I came across this information and would like to pass it on. The owner of this bible states that it belonged to someone who served twice in the civil war and whose father was the last survivor from the war of 1812. He did not include a name. I found that Hiram Cronk was the last survivor from the War of 1812. If you want to check it out, put Family Bible in the search, it is on page 4 item #30 listed as CIVIL WAR FAMILY PRONOUNCING PARALLEL BIBLE. I hope I have helped it get back into the Cronk family. Hannah is listed as being 16 years old at the time of the census, and John is 68. So I guess this is ANOTHER John Cronk. Robyn.

Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.cronk/222.5.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have just started researching my maternal grandparents' line (Cronk and Anguish). I have a John, son of Tunis and brother of William, born sometime 1782 to 1785 in New York. He moved to Upper Canada sometime before 1794 (where Tunis died). According to the 1851 Canada Census, John was married to Sarah (maiden name unknown). I have no record of children at this point. I must have a different John to yours, but hoping that someone can give information on my John Cronk as well. Thanks, Robyn.

I don't see how John could be born in 1763 if his first child was born in 1769 !??! Something's not quite right there I think. John may not be the son of Abraham as I can't seem to make the dates work. Any theories anyone?

Unfortunately, I have only just begun to explore Abigail Cronk's lineage, so I do not have much to share (other than parentage and siblings). I do, however, have quite a bit of information on Almira and Cortland's descendents. I would be happy to share information regarding this branch of our family tree.
