    3. Hi Derek Yes reported. His wife Elizabeth and two children were living in Pleasant St, Bolton with Elizabeth's parents. Apparently 17 Harrison St, Ancoats was not a workhouse but the Manchester Municipal Males Lodging House. What threw me was the sheer number of lodgers - 372 from all over the world. Some lodging house! At some stage Moorhouse returned to his family in Bolton, where he died in 1936. Have a good Xmas and good hunting in 2010 Derek dellcrom@aol.com wrote: > Derek > > CROMPTON and not Grompton. > > Hope you reported this 1911census transcription error to FindmyPast. > > lodger/ married/ > So who and where was his wife? > > Derek Crompton > London south-east > ------------------------------------- > List mail will show up in PLAIN TEXT only. > ------------------------------------- > This list is for the CROMPTON surname family history and gossip. > ------------------------------------- > http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~cromptoninfo/ > ================ > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to CROMPTON-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > >

All the best for Christmas and the New Year and I'm hoping to get back into it then, cheers Joy
