Just spotted this ..........................(** have removed his private contact info) Lancashire Times - Thursday, 6 August 2009 By Margaret Mottram LOOKING FOR DESCENDENTS OF THE CROMPTONS Brendan O’Farrell of ** Southport, Mersyside, is looking for descendents of any of the children of John Crompton (b 1858), Joseph Crompton (b 1867),Peter Crompton (b 1861), and Margaret Crompton (b 1864). Parents were Ann or Hannah Crompton nee Farrell, born in Ireland, and Joseph Crompton born in Darcy Lever, Bolton, c 1826. Joseph was a carter (flour) and died in 1885 in an unmarked grave in St Stephen’s, Lever Bridge . I have the parents marriage, but apart from Margaret the marriages of the other three brothers are a complete mystery, as there are so many Cromptons in Bolton . Margaret married Matthew Seddon (my wife’s great grandfather), Matthew was to die with two of his sons in the Pretoria Pit disaster, and several other family members. Margaret died in 1941 in Bolton, and is in the same grave as her dear husband . ** Derek Crompton London south-east
