Hello Ellen and Doug, Re Ann CROMPTON born Spain - I have just realised that the parent of Ann in the details that Ellen sent are Ricardo CROMPTON and Maria CALST and this would be Mary CASTLE who Richard did indeed marry at Marple in 1840. Mary's parents are given as Juan and Ana CALST. Again this is CASTLE as I already had Mary's parents as Johnathon CASTLE and Ann PLATT. Conclusion: The only connection to Spain is that Richard and Mary went there for some reason and had a child, Ann in 1844. They returned to England as Richard died here in 1848.
