    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/kYQ.2ACIB/167.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Marie, I have a sister of Dinah Crofoot born in 1766, but her name is Phebe. (b. 1 Mar 1766, Norwalk, CT.) These are the children of Ebenezer and Sarah Saint John Crofoot. I know there were other Crofoots (Crofeet? LOL) around in the area. I have a roster of Captain James Clarke's Company, 16th Regiment which made an expedition around Fairfiled County in 1779. That company lists a Seth Crofoot, Sergeant, and a Joseph Crofoot. Ebenezer Crofoot's father was a Joseph Crofoot, but I have no idea if this is the one named. Dinah had a brother Joseph as we and he would have been ot the right age to have fought in the Revolution. He was the eldest child, and the child-bearing in this family was spread out over 20 years. Joseph was the only male. Good luck with your Lois. I will post again if I run across one who fits. Have you ever heard of a Native American connection with your family? Kathy
