I came across your message and am hoping I'm not to late in responding. Did your Mary Crofoot by any chance marry a George Shaffer after her marriage to Viers? My husband's family tree list a Mary Crawfoot as being born: June 1846, DOD: 1928. Mary and George moved from the Ohio area to southwest Michigan, I believe after 1880. I have their son John Wesley Shaffer down as being born in Ohio also. Like you, I have hit a bit of a brick wall. Do these names and dates correlate with yours?
