Sam & I just got back last night from Globe Lake Ontario... a 122 hour drive north of Minneapolis....eh, and after 3 days of fishing our group of 11 came back with our limit of northern pike and walleye. The largest northern pike our group caught was 18 pounds 8 ounces, and was almost as tall as Sam - 44 inches. I will send photos as this is not a "fish" story. Just a final note, I caught 6 Northern Pike in 2 hours Monday afternoon... all over 6 pounds. We timed them just right as they came off of the spawn and the fish were really hungry. Another really good fishing trip and great memories for Sam. He really enjoyed trying to catch the suckers...some were over 2 pounds. His favorite fishing method was to carry a net and chase the suckers up and down the stream. He missed a king size northern on Saturday (his 9th birthday) as he started to look at it and let the tension off on the line before I was able to get it into the net. He now has a reason to go back next year and get that fish. Love to all and stay in touch when you can. Summer is here and the lakes are full of fish and fun. Again, look forward to some really great fishing photos int he next couple of weeks. Don

Hi, I am a descendant of Dudley Emerson Crofoot and Roxana Woodward Bates Crofoot, of Lake Co. (Geauga until 1840) OH. Dudley was the youngest son of Malcolm Crofoot and Sophia Knapp. I have 16 Carte-de-Visite's, or CDV's, a type of card mounted photograph introduced in the mid 1850s and popular until almost the turn of the century. These photos are about 2.5 x 4 inches. They were given to me by my great aunt and she told me they were all Crofoots. I can only identify two of them, Laura Ann Crofoot and her brother John Leonard Crofoot. John Leonard Crofoot married Elizabeth Burt and lived in Niles, MI. Laura Ann Crofoot married David Pike and lived in Lake Co. OH. It is possible that the 14 unidentified photos are Dudley Emerson Crofoot 1800-1887 Roxana Woodward Bates Crofoot 1806-1882 Aurelia Crofoot b 1824 Joel R. I remember Grandpa Ott well. He would visit us quite often. His truck and his personal gear was always immaculate. He always carried his saddle with him.
